Best filaments for each KingsCutter product

Quick answer

PETG is the recommended filament for almost all KingsCutter products: strong, durable, food-safe, and easy to print. PLA works for occasional use but wears out faster. Do not use ABS for food contact. For silicone molds that require heat resistance, PETG is mandatory.

Recommendations by product

Recommendations by product type: Cookie cutter → PETG, Cutter + Stamp → PETG, Silicone mold → PETG, Decorative stamp → PLA/PETG, Stencil → PLA, Cake topper → PLA/PETG, Brigadeiro ejector → PETG, Texture roller → PETG.

Print settings by filament

Print settings: PETG: 230-250°C nozzle, 70-80°C bed, 30-50% fan, 40-60mm/s. PLA: 190-220°C nozzle, 50-60°C bed, 100% fan, 50-80mm/s.

Tip
️ Important: Always dry PETG before printing. Wet PETG produces bubbles, strings, and poor layer adhesion. A well-dried filament is the difference between a perfect cutter and one with defects.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use PLA for cookie cutters?
Yes, for occasional use it's fine. The problem with PLA is that it degrades with moisture and frequent washing. For professional or repeated use, prefer PETG.
Is PETG really food-safe?
Virgin PETG (without additives) is considered food-safe by the FDA. 3D printing introduces micropores where bacteria can grow. We recommend sealing the surface with food-safe epoxy resin or using the cutter with a protective film.
What filament should I use for molds that receive hot liquids?
PETG withstands up to ~80°C. For hot waxes (candles) it's fine. For resins that generate exothermic heat, monitor the temperature. Do not use PLA for anything that exceeds 50°C.
Does Nylon work?
Nylon is strong and food-safe, but it's difficult to print (requires high temperatures, warps, absorbs moisture). We don't recommend it for beginners.
