Custom stencil — complete guide

Quick answer

The KingsCutter stencil is a thin sheet with a cut-out design, ideal as a template for dusting powdered sugar, cocoa, or paint over cakes, cookies, and coffee. It is generated by selecting Stencil in the Designer, with a thickness of 1-2 mm and a size of 5-20 cm. Internal pieces are held together by automatic bridges.

1

Prepare your image

Upload an image with the desired design. The system processes the outline automatically.

The best designs have well-defined open areas. Avoid very small islands.

2

Select Stencil

Choose Stencil in the selector. You will see parameters: thickness, size, and connecting bridges.

3

Adjust parameters

Thickness 1.5 mm, Size 7-15 cm, Automatic bridges enabled, Optional handling holes.

4

Download and print

PLA or PETG, 0.2 mm layer, 2 walls, 5% infill, no supports. Print lying flat.

5

Use your stencil

Place on the surface and dust with powdered sugar, cocoa, or food coloring. Remove by lifting vertically.

Cleaning: warm water and mild soap. Dry completely.

Quick tips
Dust cocoa over the stencil for an elegant effect on iced cookies.
For coffee, use small stencils (5-6 cm) with cocoa.
Clean immediately after use.
Stencils work with fondant to make edible appliques.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a stencil and a cutter?
A stencil is a template with holes to decorate the surface by dusting powders. It does not cut the dough.
Do fine details break?
The system adds automatic bridges. For delicate details, I recommend a thickness of 1.5-2 mm.
Can I use it for painting?
Yes, with an airbrush, edible spray, or dusting. Hold firmly for sharp edges.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Hand washing recommended. PETG can withstand it, but pressure may bend thin parts.
